Repeat prescriptions

Medical treatments are becoming increasingly complex with many patients on several drugs at the same time.  The reception staff and doctors spend a substantial amount of time every day processing requests for repeat prescriptions.  Great care is required to avoid mistakes.

Please, therefore, allow us 48 hours to process your requests.

We now offer the facility of ordering your prescriptions online. Please ask at the front reception desk for a registration form to use this facility.

You should; ideally, use the computer printed repeat prescription form.  This you will find attached to any computer printed prescription you may have received. Failing this, neatly print your name, address, your usual doctor’s name and prescriptions details (drug name and dosage) on a form available at the reception desk.  You should then either:

  • Hand the request in or post it in the box provided in the reception hall.
  • Send it by post enclosing a stamped addressed envelope.
  • Some chemists will take your request and obtain them for you from the surgery.  Arrange this service with the chemist of your choice.
  • Some chemists have a delivery service for housebound patients.  Please contact them directly to arrange this service.

Repeat prescriptions will not be taken over the phone as this could lead to errors in transcription.  Please do not make an appointment only to obtain a repeat prescription.
