NHS Minor Ailments Service

The NHS Minor Ailment service provides pharmacist-based advice and treatment (e.g provision of over-the-counter medication) for a wide range of minor ailments, for example – acne, constipation, diarrhoea, headache, sore throat, warts. You can register at a pharmacist of your choice. Treatment is free for children, over 60s and adults on certain benefits.  If your pharmacist feels it is better for you to see your GP, they may refer you directly or ask you to make an appointment with your GP surgery.
